The Bloomfield Township Police Department is a participating member of Crime Stoppers, an international organization committed to empowering people to make their neighborhoods, schools and businesses safer through anonymous reporting of crime. It is the largest crime fighting organization in the world, working in 22 countries.

Crime Stoppers operates an Anonymous Tip Line (800-SPEAK UP) to encourage witnesses and others who have information about a crime to report what they know. If a crime is solved because of a person’s tip, that person is eligible for a cash reward.

The Police Department’s participation and support of Crime Stoppers is part of a growing effort among southeast Michigan’s communities to collaborate in solving crimes. Crimes that occur in Bloomfield Township such as home invasions, armed robberies and sexual assaults will have an even better chance of being solved and the criminal going to prison.
