Information on the Permit Application Process

EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2024,  THE FOLLOWING CODES WILL TAKE EFFECT IN BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP - 2021 MICHIGAN MECHANICAL CODE, 2021 MICHIGAN PLUMBING CODE,  AND 2023 NEC W/PART 8 RULES.   ALL NEW PERMITS SUBMITTED AS OF JULY 1ST WILL BE SUBJECT TO THESE CODES.

Sylvan Lake Permits

Bloomfield Township entered into an agreement with the City of Sylvan Lake to perform inspections, plan review and permitting services for the adjoining community. Sylvan Lake applications are available on their website here. Bloomfield Township will collect the fees for construction permits. Make checks out to Bloomfield Township.

Certificates of Occupancy

Temporary Certification of Occupancy request requires all permits to have at least a partial final inspection with no safety violations.  Then please complete the request form.

Change of Occupancies are required when a new tenant is moving into a commercial space. For no change of use the fee will be for a certificate of occupancy. If the use is changing please use the change of occupancy fee. Please complete the Change of Occupancy request form.
