Precinct Consolidation in Bloomfield Township
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the efficiency, security, and cost-effectiveness of elections in Bloomfield Township, we have consolidated to 12 precincts. This change will streamline operations across multiple fronts, ultimately benefitting Bloomfield Township residents.
Why consolidate precincts?
Precinct consolidation helps us:
- Enhance accessibility: By reducing the number of polling locations, we can select the most convenient, accessible, and efficient sites.
- Improve integrity: Fewer locations allow for stronger oversight and greater election security.
- Boost service: On Election Day, fewer calls to the Clerk’s Office means faster response times and better assistance for residents.
- Increase efficiency: Results can be reported more quickly at the end of the night.
How does this affect me as a voter?
- Polling location: Your polling place may have changed.
- Precinct number: Even if your polling location stayed the same, your precinct number may be different.
- Voter ID card: If your information changed, you will automatically receive a new voter ID card in the mail. If nothing changed, your current card remains valid.
Precincts in blue have experienced a change and precincts in yellow have not experienced a change. *
*Please note: The only change Precinct 12 has experienced is a change in precinct number.
How do I confirm my polling place?
You can check your current polling location and precinct number by:
- Using the new precinct map
- Using the information on your voter ID card
- Visiting the Michigan Voter Information Center
