Meadow Lake has a surface area of approximately 18 acres, a maximum depth of 21 feet, and a mean or average depth of 4.1 feet. The lake contains about 84.6 acre-feet of water, which equates to 27 million gallons. The lake has a shoreline about 1.0 mile long. The majority of the 183-acre Meadow Lake watershed is urbanized. Water drains to Meadow Lake via several inlets. The largest of which enters from the north end of the lake. Meadow Lake’s outlet flows into southeast to join with the Franklin Branch of the Rouge River before moving on to the Detroit River.

Lake Board Information
At the request of residents, a Lake Improvement Board was convened for Meadow Lake in 1983. The Lake Improvement Board was established as a mechanism to address apparent water quality concerns within the lake. Later that year, the Meadow Lake Improvement Board began a study to quantify the water quality issues impacting Meadow Lake and determine what actions, if any, were required to correct these issues.
