Since its inception in the mid 1980’s, The Bloomfield Township Fire Department Charities has worked diligently to help fund burn treatment research, prevent juvenile arson, assist local individuals and families in need, and many other charitable endeavors. The BTFD Charities has raised over $1 million for these causes.

Throughout the years our fundraising events have included our Polar Bear Plunges, a Jack of Spades Raffle, Bowling Tournaments, MDA Fill the Boot, the Bloomfield Classic Car shows which coincides with the Woodward Dream Cruise, and our annual Golf Outing – now in its 37th year.

Over the holidays the BTFD Charities partner with the BTPD Benevolent Association to support the annual Holiday Wish program. This joint venture has provided gifts for families of Bloomfield Township and the surrounding area, and has helped spread the joy of the holiday spirit. During the holidays you will find our members and their families donating their time doing holiday shopping and wrapping gifts for the children.

The BTFD Charities offers assistance in both local and surrounding areas. Our continued efforts help support medical treatment at The University of Michigan Trauma Burn Center, Children’s Hospital, Survival Flight of Michigan, St. Jude’s Hospital, and Juvenile Diabetes. We also provide scholarships through Bloomfield Youth Assistance and the Oakland Community College Fire Academy.

If you would like to support these efforts, maybe be a sponsor for the golf outing or simply make a donation, call 248-433-7745, send an Email, or donate via Venmo @BTFD-Charities.
