The Road Commission for Oakland County will close Franklin Road just south of Telegraph Road to north of Acorn Road on August 4th through approximately August 18th for concrete repairs. During the closure, the detour for traffic is Telegraph Road to Hickory Grove Road, back to Franklin Road and vice versa. Business access will be maintained during the work by using Franklin Road.
Cipparrone Contracting Inc. of Southfield is doing the work. Once the new concrete is poured, it must cure, which means it cannot be driven on. During the curing phase, no workers will be present, and the road may appear complete, but it can only be opened to traffic once the concrete is finished curing and gains the necessary strength to support the traffic.
