On Thursday, December 5, 2024, the Bloomfield Township Senior Center, in partnership with the Bloomfield Hills Rotary Club, will be hosting a Holiday Blood Drive. According to the American Red Cross, “every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. 38% of the population is eligible to donate blood, but only 3% actually do.”

Blood is vital to modern medicine. It is used every day to treat patients with blood disorders, those receiving organ transplants, and undergoing cancer treatments, just to name a few.

This is the perfect opportunity to pay it forward. Bloomfield Township Senior Center Director Christine Tvaroha proclaims, “we invite the community to event and welcome people 17 and over.”

She concludes, “in 45 minutes or less you could save three lives; please give a gift that is quite literally life-changing this holiday season.”
