In April 2025, Bloomfield Township announced that Metronet was seeking permits to install a fiber network. You can read the announcement in the Spring 2025 Newsletter.
In this interview between IT Director Wil Babinchak and Cable and Community Relations Director Carrie LeZotte, they discuss what Metronet is and what residents can expect during the fiber installation project.
Residents can also watch the Metronet presentation to the Board of Trustees on June 9, 2025.
The permits for this project start at the County level before making their way to Township Offices. Once any installation dates are announced they will be posted here and on Township social media channels. Metronet will be sending letters, postcards, utilizing door hangers and signs to announce when installation is coming to a neighborhood. A minimum 30-day notice is expected.
