Longtime Bloomfield Township Fire Department (BTFD) Firefighter/Paramedic Kevin Cardinale was recently promoted from Battalion Chief to Operations Officer. Cardinale has been a member of the BTFD since 1996. His new position of Operations Officer was recently created and has a main focus on public information.
Additionally, Kevin will work as a community liaison and work on department recruitment. He spoke about being available for neighborhood association/organization meetings. “People ask questions and it’s an opportunity to learn what more we can do for the community,” Kevin stated. You can contact Kevin for a meeting request by calling 248-433-7747.
Along with Firefighter/Paramedic Chris Hull, Kevin appeared on this week’s episode of Coffee with Carrie. Hosted by Bloomfield Township Director of Cable and Community Relations Carrie LeZotte, the podcast highlights Township employees and promotes community events.
Chris Hull, who is President of BTFD Charities, spoke about this Wednesday’s “Fill The Boot” event. A staple since 2003, “Fill The Boot,” will have BTFD personnel and family members looking for donations to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Chris added that the BTFD “is a very family oriented organization, our families meet each other and become family.”
Volunteers will be spread throughout Bloomfield Township from 830am to 430pm on Wednesday November 22, with main locations near the intersections of Maple Road/Lahser Road and Telegraph Road/Long Lake Road. You will see various helpers using actual firefighter boots to collect funds to benefit MDA’s mission to provide treatment for patients and support for their family members.
