Out with the old and in with the new…..but mostly out with the old. May 6th, 2023 sees the much-needed return of Electronic Waste Recycling. This is the perfect opportunity to clear out the garage, attic and closets of unneeded TVs, outdated computers and any electronic devices you’ve been “meaning to get around to.” Rule of Thumb: if you haven’t touched it in a year, it’s time to go.
In addition to this technological purge, this event includes Medication Disposal and Paper Shredding. Time to purge your medicine cabinets of any and all unused or expired medications, as well securely dispense of any unnecessary paperwork that is creating nothing but clutter.
Think of it as Spring Cleaning, which itself is a long-storied tradition that can be traced to Persian New Year, as well as the early days of Passover. Moreover, spring cleaning has a connection to our cyclical human nature. After a winter, where cold temperatures and lack of sunlight inhibit our activities, spring is the perfect time to wake up and enjoy the sunshine. A time to get out and clear out the clutter.
Now, here’s your chance to get organized and dispense of excessive items in a responsible and secure manner.
Electronic Waste Recycling, Medication Disposal and Paper Shredding will be Saturday, May 6th, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. On the day of the event, there will be two entrances to the event, south onto Andover Road from Long Lake Road or west onto Andover Road from southbound Telegraph. Have your ID out and ready to show volunteers. Stay in your vehicle. Volunteers will unload everything from your car.
This event is open to Township residents only, and proof of residency is required.
