The law and process of elections in Michigan is about to undergo the most sweeping change in perhaps the last century. This is due, in large part, to the voter approval of Proposal Two last November. About these changes, Township Clerk Martin C. Brook explains that he wants election law and procedural changes that implement Proposal Two in a thoroughly considered and open way that both expands access and protects security. Clerk Brook recently drove to Lansing to testify before the Senate Elections and Ethics Committee about an elections bill where he advocated for streamlined process and proper funding for these increased demands on local election officials. You can watch the testimony which begins approximately eight minutes into the video. When the time comes, the Clerk’s Office will communicate with residents about the changes and implement them in a clear and consistent manner.
