This Privacy Policy describes the Township’s policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of users’ personal information when interacting with this application.
By using this application, users agree to the collection and storage of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Section 1: Interpretation
The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.
Section 2: Definitions
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:
Account means a unique account created by a user to access the application.
Application refers to the downloadable application hosted on the Apple Store, created by Bloomfield Township.
Device means any device that can access the Service such as a computer, a cellphone or a digital tablet. Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Township. It refers to third-party companies or individuals employed by the Township to facilitate the application, to provide the application on behalf of the Township, to perform services related to the application or to assist the Township in analyzing how the application is used.
Third-party Social Media Service refers to any website or any social network website through which a user can log in or create an account to use the application.
Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the application or from the application infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).
User means the individual accessing or using the application, or the Township, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the application, as applicable.
Section 3: Collection of Personal Data
While using this application, the app may ask users to provide certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify the user. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:
- Email address
- First name and last name
- Phone number
- Address, State, Province, ZIP/Postal code, City
- Usage Data
Section 4: Usage Data
Usage Data is collected automatically when using the application and may include information such as the user’s Device's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages that the user visits, the time and date of the user’s visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data. The application may also collect information the user’s device sends when he or she visits the application via a mobile device.
Section 5: Information from Third-Party Social Media Services
The application may allow users to create an account and log in to use the application through third-party social media sites, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or LinkedIn. If a user decides to register through or otherwise grant us access to a Third-Party Social Media Service, the application may collect personal data that is already associated with the user’s social media account, such as the user’s name, email address, activity on social media, or contact/follower list.
Section 6: Device Information
When utilizing the application, it may collect information on a user’s location, information from the device’s phone book, and pictures and other information from the device’s camera and photo library.
Section 7: Use of Information Collected
The Township may use the personal information collected for the following purposes:
- To monitor the usage of the application;
- To manager a user’s account;
- To assist in the performance of a contract;
- To contact users via push notifications, security updates, and communications regarding the functionality of the application;
- To provide users with news or general information about the Township.
Section 8: Sharing Application Information
The Township may share the information collected with service providers, third parties such as Google and Apple, who automatically collect user data, or with law enforcement.
Section 9: Information Retention
The Township may retain personal information or data to the extent necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce Township legal agreements and policies. The Township may also retain such data for internal analytical purposes.
Section 10: Transfer of Data
The information collected may be processed via a number of third-party companies. This means user data may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of the user’s state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from the user’s jurisdiction. By accessing this application, the user agrees to that transfer.
Section 11: Protection of Personal Data
The Township will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that users’ data is secure. However, the Township disclaims any liability relating to the collection, storage, sharing, transfer, or disclosure of user data. By accessing this application, the user agrees to hold the Township harmless for any and all claims related to the above.
Section 12. Changes to the Policy
The Township may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The Township will notify users of any changes by posting the updated Policy to the Township website.
