Financial Assistance Resources
Residents may qualify for financial assistance. Information on Bloomfield Township's program and Oakland County's program is outlined below. Assistance with Special Assessment - Bloomfield Township SAD Program

Assistance with Plumbing Costs - Oakland County Home Improvement Program
Qualified homeowners may receive interest-free loans of up to $23,000 to make needed home repairs, including barrier free access and energy saving upgrades.
There are no monthly payments and the total loan is due and payable only when you no longer live in your home.
Oakland County staff is with you all the way from helping you apply for the loan to overseeing all repair work and paying pre-screened contractors.
If Your Plumber's Estimate is Over $5,000
To qualify, you must meet Income Limits and:
- Own and live in your own home in Oakland County (the City of Lake Angelus, Novi Township, Southfield Township, Waterford Township and Village of Bingham Farms do not participate in the program).
- You may NOT own any other property, other than the property that you are seeking financial assistance for.
- Meet gross household income limits set by the federal government (Income Limits) update annually in July for the year).

- Homeowner’s name and property address

- Amount of dwelling coverage
- Policy expiration date
Mortgage Statement – First Mortgage, Home Equity Loan (if applicable) – must include:
- Homeowner’s name and property address
- Current principle balance, last paid, next due
Federal Tax Form – most recently filed
State of MI Tax Form – most recently filed
**If Self-Employed, 2 years of federal and state income tax forms
Apply at Oakland County Home Improvement Program
If Your Plumber's Estimate Is Under $5000
Bloomfield Township Senior Services facilitates the Minor Home Repair (MHR) program with funding from Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. The program is designed to help low to moderate income households complete more complicated home maintenance.
Repairs must fit the MHR criteria and may not exceed $5,000.00 in a program calendar year. Repairs are subject to Federal lead-based paint regulations. The application form is available on the Township website (Application for MCL 211.7u Poverty Exemption) or by calling Senior Services at 248-723-3500.
Program staff are available to help residents through the application process and to manage projects through to completion.
