Do You Know How Your Valuable Tax Dollars Are Spent?
By law, each property owner, per their individual Taxable Value and specified millage rates, pays yearly property taxes.
All funds, collected by Bloomfield Township, are re-distributed to the various taxing authorities on a bi-weekly basis.
Each funding authority uses these funds to cover their fiscal year's activities.
For example, if a Homestead Property Owner, living in the Bloomfield Hills School District, has a TAXABLE Value of 100,000, the funds, based on the 2021 Millage Rate of 38.2733, would be distributed as follows:

Summer Taxes are due July 1 and payable July 1 through September 14 without interest. The tax statements, which are mailed out in June, are called the summer and/or school taxes. Beginning in 2003, the State Education and Oakland County portion of the tax is billed 100% on the summer tax statement. July taxes become a lien on the property on July 1st and accrue interest on payments received after September 14.

- Eligible Serviceman, Eligible Veteran, or Eligible Widow/Widower
