2020 Employee Compensation Study

We are pleased to announce that the Township has begun working with Segal Waters Consulting on a comprehensive Classification and Compensation Study. Segal was chosen because of their experience with public employers nationwide and demonstrated insight into classification and compensation issues.

Update August 2020: Segal Waters Consulting has completed the study and presented the results to the Township Board of Trustees. View the Presentation made to the Board and the complete study below.

Compensation Study Objectives 

Conduct a classification, compensation and staffing study for about 311 employees, resulting in new programs and policies that will:
  • Attract and retain qualified employees who will be paid an equitable salary and benefits package
  • Enable the Township to maintain a competitive position regarding the entire compensation and benefit package with other comparable government entities and private companies within the same geographic area
  • Provide a straightforward and streamlined job structure that is easy-to-understand and easy-to-administer
  • Include updated, accurate, and legally compliant job descriptions for each classification


The study began in January 2020 and the final report was presented in July 2020.
